Your mission will be to develop client and referral opportunities to grow personal line business among high net worth clients, primarily in the greater Los Angeles area. There will be elements of account management, but you'll focus on new accounts. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a current P&C license and solid brokerage experience selling to high net worth individuals and families. You also will need strong knowledge of all areas of personal lines. We're looking for the unique professional who combines an aggressive spirit with the panache required to deal effectively with this clientele. An existing network of relevant contacts will help you tremendously, although it is not required.

  • Experience consulting with clients with large jewelry schedules, fine arts, high value automobiles, etc.
  • A demonstrated ability to broker effectively with clients and insurance companies.
  • Outstanding relationship building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • A strong sense of ethics and integrity.
  • Solid computer skills and the ability to apply mathematical concepts.
  • Effective organizational skills and a detail orientation.

  • The ability to understand a large number of products and services, and a willingness to learn on an ongoing basis.

More About Your Role

If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure we're providing a complete picture, here are some details. You will report to our Executive Vice President, who also produces, and become one of two Producers in this office; the other focuses on Orange County and you will focus on Los Angeles County. The office also includes a full support team to back you up. While we will provide lead support through marketing events and other channels, we'll look to you to own the entire process, from sourcing leads to closing deals. You will be shepherd the front-end process and then hand accounts off to an Account Manager.

Pivotal to your success will be your ability to develop relationships with clients from the start, discovering their goals and challenges. In addition, you will need to foster strong working relationships with carriers. Your activities also will include:
  • Developing a business plan for your territory, in collaboration with the EVP, and executing on it.
  • Developing client opportunities and referral opportunities and presenting the HUB Private Client approach to the individuals and families who meet the high net worth profile.
  • Reviewing potential clients' current coverage and identifying opportunities to improve on it.
  • Developing and delivering presentations.
  • Developing proposals and quotes.
  • Overcoming issues to close deals.
  • Documenting and reporting on your activities.
In general your activities will be local, although there may be occasions for travel, such as to attend sales meetings.
