Opportunity Snapshot

If you are a true hunter with the drive to excel, our highly entrepreneurial culture offers you the freedom to pursue sales the way you know best. Most of our senior leaders started as Sales Consultants and built HUB into a major player in the insurance brokerage scene, and they understand the kind of environment you need to thrive. You will be able to customize solutions from a broad portfolio to reach a diverse array of business customers. With minimum overnight travel, you will be able to prospect new business from throughout the Pacific Northwest.

You will focus on new accounts and own the entire sales process, from identifying prospects and cold calling to closing deals to laying the groundwork for long, mutually satisfying relationships. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a proven track record in insurance sales, including bringing in new accounts, and an established network of contacts in the area. We're looking for a professional with outstanding relationship building skills and a demonstrated ability to consult with clients and develop solutions.

HUB International Limited is the world's tenth largest insurance brokerage, providing a broad array of property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, reinsurance, investment and risk management products and services via offices throughout the US and Canada. We are growing, even while others are cutting back. Our culture places a high value on initiative, autonomy, and accountability.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you'll need:
  • Determination and self-motivation.
  • The ability to understand a large number of products and services, and a willingness to learn on an ongoing basis.
  • Solid organizational skills and a detail orientation.
  • Strong networking presence within the community is a big plus.

What's in It for You

Broad portfolio, untapped potential customers -- we think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the wide market that is open to you with HUB. You'll offer customers localized personal service backed by a vast array of products and services from all the major carriers as well as an extensive network of subject matter expertise within HUB. Our Sales Consultants provide solutions to every kind of industry, from cyber security to dairy farming to museums and galleries to religious institutions to wineries.

Sales at the center -- HUB is a sales-oriented company, and we'll make sure you have the support you need and the "elbow room" to be successful. While you will focus on Employee Benefits and/or Property and Casualty, we'll look to you to identify opportunities leveraging all that HUB has to offer. For example, you may target a new niche market or assemble a specific program. Our history shows that when Sales Consultants have great ideas, their supervisors get behind them 100%, and there isn't a lot of red tape or bureaucracy between idea and execution.

Excellent compensation -- we offer competitive compensation and, as you might expect from an insurance broker, our benefits are very competitive, and many include pre-tax advantages.

More About Your Role

In a nutshell, your mission will be to identify, pursue, and close new business in property & casualty. Most of your business will be in Western Washington, although you may pursue leads throughout the state as well as Oregon and Alaska. This role is all about maximizing visibility in the business community, picking up the phone, meeting customers and prospects in person, and attending networking events to create new relationships, and strengthen existing ones.

Pivotal to your success will be your ability to develop relationships with clients from the start, discovering their goals and challenges. In addition, you will need to foster strong working relationships with carriers. This is not a "cowboy" or "lone wolf" role; you'll initiate new business, but then you'll pull in other HUB resources, coordinating and motivating cross-functional teams to develop and deliver solutions.
